A MUST READ!

There are times when someone gives expression to everything that is in your heart - well if you click on painters diary (in the right hand column of this blog) it will take you to something that everyone should read and then go away, get on their knees, and carefully consider. Yesterday Suzie and I had larger coffees than usual - if we were drinkers or smokers it would have been more than a caffeine fix - because our hearts are raw within us over what we are looking at - and full of despair at the fact that Christians are not stepping up to the mark - words won't do what feet, arms, eyes and hearts will do! Please read what she has expressed with incredible passion and clarity.

Luk 4:17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,
Luk 4:18 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
Luk 4:19 TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD."

  1. I read Suzi's post. Claire had put it up on her blog to alert folk. I hadn't realised exactly the ministry you were involved in - just knew it was community work and had a sense you were going deep and to places that were truly challenging and touching your heart. Where will you go from here with the changes Suzi mentions? Anything specific I can pray for, consider doing?

  2. Hi Karen, we will continue on with the programme we are running each week, and I've now taken on a night supervision role and sleep there (to pray) one night a week which is a brilliant opportunity - but full of challenges - so all prayer gratefully accepted!
Pray for labourers in the harvest and that God will call and equip people for very specific roles in this time - that is what I am doing.
Will keep in mind your willingness to help too - thank you.
    Blessings.

  3. Thanks Judith. I will pray. Is the programme you run at the Refuge or the Community House for the girls in need? I am just interested to know what you are doing (I'm not totally clear) and want to pray effectively :-) . Blessings upon you, may the workers come pouring in and the helpers.

  4. I would tell you a little more about it face to face or if you wanted to give me a call. :) The workers are needed right across the board to reach into this area - women and children are dying in our nation - so many need to begin to ask God what He would have them do in the face of this - we are just doing our tiny little bit!

  5. I will get in touch when I get the opportunity. Your posting and Suzi's really challenged me to prayer. I have blogged about it today "Do what he tells you" is the name of the post.

I have a bag of really good quality clothing that is barely worn (some new) due to my weight loss. Would this be of help to some of the ladies? I would be delighted to be able to give.

  6. Yes, the clothing is always gratefully received thanks Karen. If you want to drop it to me I'll take it over.
    Thank you.

  7. Thank you so much for yesterday and your kindness. I hope I didn't make you too late for your meeting. I was concerned you had to dash around to make it.

  8. It was great to see you, and I made it - right on time! :) Have you noticed that having kids trains you to be able to get ready for things in the shortest amount of time!! :)
Thank you and your hubby for the blessing - it came right on time.

  9. thanks judy for your comments.
    i agree entirely with you.

i am boggled by the crazy things we humans do. the course of human history is literally littered with blatant acts of craziness! we have killed our own, nearly wiping out whole generations, nations have been plundered and destroyed etc etc etc. certainly by the same magnitude but inverted we could be capable of changing the world around us. the lord has given us the responsibility to be good stewards - im not sure if our failure to do so is reparable.

yes. i have read painter's diary. i love it! so must passion.
